Saturday, October 17, 2009, 8:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Pawtuxet Village Farmer’s Market, Broad Street, Cranston, Farmer’s Market Bake/Plant Sale and Pumpkin Patch For Kids. Annual fundraiser held at the Pawtuxet Village Farmer’s Market. Bake and plant donations needed, as well as volunteers to man the sales tent and children’s activity. Drop off items from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. Ingredients should be listed on all baked goods. Plants should be labels with name and growing conditions (sun or shade, etc.). Pot Collection-Bring used plant pots to recycle for the market’s farmers.
Wednesday, November 11, 2009: 6:00PM (note time change), Trinity Church, Let Us Give Thanks for Floral Decoration. Workshop will create a Thanksgiving-themed flower design led by a Master Accredited Judge. Bring a favorite container, floral shears, gloves, if preferred, and some paper towel. Flowers and materials provided for a $7 fee. Please reserve a space by Monday, November 9, 2009.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010, 12 NOON (note time), Roger Williams Park Botanical Center, Escape To The Tropic/Countdown To The Flower Show II. Come early, or stay late, to tour the center on your own ($3.50 per person), if you want to take a mini-vacation to warmer climes during the dead of winter. Accredited Judge will give tips for showing plants and cuttings during the Spring Flower Show’s Horticulture Competition. Bring a bag lunch. Coffee, tea and dessert will be served.
Monday February 15- Sunday, February 21, 2010, Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence, The Rhode Island Flower Show at the Rhode Island Spring Flower & Garden Show. Set-up day, Monday, Horticulture entries are due Tuesday. Design entries due and evening preview party Wednesday. Show opens Thursday. Break down Monday, February 22. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 7 p.m., Trinity Church, Sprouting Seeds Yields Great Things: A Seed Starting Workshop. Innovative methods for creating ready to go plants by May revealed by a member who is a veteran seed-starter. Potting materials and seeds will bring provided, or bring your own. If possible, bring in cleaned, plastic salad box packaging with a separate tops and bottoms.
